A new species of Paralomis (Decapada, Aromura) from the Southeastern Atlantic

Mostrar más [+] Menos [-]In recen! years the Instituto de Investigaciones Pesqueras has been conducting systematic and ecological studies on the continental slope of the southeastem Atlantic under the sponsorship of the Direcci6n General de Pesca. The records of the specimens obtained will be published in due time, however a new species of the family Lithodidae is described in this paper. The family Lithodidae is representad in southeastern Atlantic waters by the genera Lithodes and Neolilhodes. Therefore, lhis new species is the first of the genus Paralomis lo be reported from this area. Measuremenls given in lhis paper refer lo the maximum width of carapace (MW) and lenglh of carapace excluding rostrum (LC). All measurements were taken lo 0.1 mm using a dial' caliper. Specimens (holotype, allotype and paratypes) are in lhe colleclions of lhe lnslitu to de Investigaciones Pesqueras de Barcelona (IIPB)
