Granitos empleados en Ávila - España. II.- Caracteres petrofísicos. | Granites employed in Avila - Spain. //.- Petrophisical characteristics

[ESP]Se estudian las propiedades físico-mecánicas de los diferentes materiales graníticos empleados en la construcción y sucesivas restauraciones de la Catedral de Avila. Los estudios de porosidad se han realizado en agua y con el porosímetro de mercurio. Se determina la porosidad total, libre y atrapada de los distintos materiales, realizando dos inyecciones de mercurio sucesivas sobre cada tipo de material, y se hace un estudio comparado de los resultados obtenidos por las distintas técnicas. Se determina también la resistencia a la compresión, de forma indirecta, deduciéndola de la velocidad de propagación de ultrasonidos. Los valores obtenidos son concordantes con los obtenidos por determinación directa, en las fades graníticas sanas (GFy GG), pero no en el caso de rocas graníticas alteradas (O, RyB).

[ENG]The studies concern physical-mechanical properties of the different granitic materials used in the construction and the succesive restaurations of the Cathedral of Avila. The calculation of porosity is made in water, and also by using Hg-porosimeter (two succesive injections of mercury). A determination of the total, the free, and the trapped porosity is carried out, and with the results a comparison is done. Also, the theoretical resistence to compression is measured with an indirect method, deduced from the velocity of ultrasound propagation. Upon comparing the values of resistence to compression obtained directly, with those obtained with the velocity of ultrasound propagation, a good correlation is seen in the GF and GG fades, but not in the case of the weathered granites (O, R andB).
