Fungi are phylogenetically and functionally diverse components of almost all ecosystems on Earth, including aquatic environments. However, filamentous fungi are among the least studied groups of aquatic microorganisms. This paper presents the investigations carried out on the biodiversity of filamentous fungi in the lake Valea Morilor. As a result of the research, a large variety of filamentous fungi belonging to different genera and represented by different species was detected. Representatives of the genera: Penicillium, Aspergillus, Trichoderma, Alternaria, Ulocladium, Fusarium, Mucor were identified. The most widespread genera are Aspergillus and Penicillium.
