Efectos genéticos e interacción genotipo por ambiente en tomate (lycopersicon esculentum mill.) en variables fenólogicas, de rendimiento, fisiotecnicas y de calidad

"Los objetivos planteados en este trabajo fueron: Determinar los efectos genéticos de 4 genotipos de tomate y sus 6 cruzas directas y estimar la interacción genotipo-ambiente (IGA) de 25 genotipos, por el método AMMI para variables fisiotécnicas, fenológicas, de rendimiento y calidad. Los veinticinco genotipos se evaluaron en los ambientes Rancho Nuevo (campo), Providencia (invernadero) y Buenavista (campo) durante el ciclo agrícola 2006. Para el análisis de la interacción genotipo-ambiente se emplearon 25 genotipos mientras que para la determinación de los efectos genéticos se emplearon 10 genotipos: tres líneas experimentales F9 (Z4, Q3, R1) y un híbrido comercial (Don Raúl) como progenitores y sus seis cruzas posibles directas de acuerdo a un diseño dialélico. Se evaluaron las vii variables: Días a Primer Corte (DPC), Días a Ultimo Corte (DUC), Días en Corte (DC), Número de Cortes (NC) Diámetro Polar (DP), Diámetro Ecuatorial (DE), Número de Frutos (NOFRT), Peso Promedio de Fruto (PPF), Rendimiento (REND) en toneladas por hectárea, Color (COLOR), Grados Brix (BRIX), Potencial de Iones de Hidrógeno (pH), Vitamina C (VITC), Licopeno (LICOP) en miligramos en cien gramos de fruto, Temperatura de la Hoja (THOJA), Asimilación de CO2 (FOTO), Conductancia Estomatal (CE), Resistencia Estomatal (RE), Transpiración (TRANS), Uso Eficiente del Agua Fisiológico (UEAF), Luz Incidente (DFFF), Concentración de CO2 (CO2), Temperatura del Ambiente (TAIR) y Humedad Relativa (HR). Los ambientes se evaluaron mediante un diseño de bloques completos al azar con dos repeticiones para las características de rendimiento y fisiológicas. La unidad experimental constó de tres plantas intermedias con competencia completa. Para las variables de calidad se utilizo el mismo diseño experimental seleccionando tres frutos al azar de cada genotipo en el cuarto o quinto corte sobre los cuales se efectuaron las pruebas de calidad en laboratorio. La información se analizó como un bloques al azar combinado sobre localidades, en las variables cuantitativas donde se detectó IGA, se realizó el análisis multivariado (AMMI) mediante el programa propuesto por Vargas y Crossa (2000), considerando los genotipos como un efecto fijo y los ambientes como efecto aleatorio. El análisis general de efectos genéticos utilizado fue el análisis II de Gardner y Eberhart (1966). El análisis de varianza combinado mostró diferencias (P≤0.05) entre ambientes para las variables DPC, PPF y REND, esta última con un promedio de 43,71 t ha-1, superior a la media nacional en el 2007, que fue de 36.54 t ha-1( SIAP-SAGARPA, 2007); entre genotipos se observó diferencias significativas para DPC y PPF, no viii detectando significancia en la IGA. Para las variables de calidad hubo diferencias significativas (P≤0.05) entre ambientes para BRIX, VITC y LICOP y diferencias (P≤0.01) entre genotipos y la IGA. Al realizar el análisis AMMI, con dos componentes principales se explicó cerca del 100 de la variación existente. La línea R1 se puede recomendar por su interacción negativa y el híbrido Q3xR1 se puede recomendar si se trabaja en ambientes óptimos, ya que mostró una interacción positiva y que responde bien en ambientes controlados. Los más estables para rendimiento fueron aquellos cercanos al origen (F3, D1, Z4xD1, Z4xR1, F3xCB, Z4xL1). El híbrido experimental S1xL1 responde mejor al ambiente Providencia (PROV) y el TRxF3 en el ambiente Buenavista (UAAAN). Para VITC los ambientes PROVID y UAAAN tienden a agrupar en forma similar a los genotipos, en donde Q3 responde bien en estos dos ambientes y los más estables fueron Z4xR1, P3xF3 y F3xD1. En el análisis de efectos genéticos, los progenitores se comportaron diferente para peso promedio de fruto; la heterosis varió en cada cruza y ambiente; en variedades por ambiente y heterosis varietal por ambiente se observaron diferencias (P≤0.05) corroborando con esto que los progenitores impartieron valores diferenciales en las cruzas involucradas. Para REND hubo diferencia (P≤0.05) para heterosis varietal por ambiente, indicando que la heterosis de los progenitores no fue constante a través de los ambientes. En las variable fisiológicas no se encontró significancia en los efectos genéticos, en BRIX los progenitores se comportaron diferente en cada ambiente y la heterosis no fue estable a través de los ambientes, adicionalmente la heterosis especifica por ambiente indicó que la heterosis de las cruzas o ACE de las mismas fue diferente a través de los ambientes. ix Hubo diferencias (P≤0.05) para heterosis total en LICOP, sugiriendo que existe suficiente potencial genético entre los progenitores estudiados, que puede explotarse en un programa de mejoramiento. En este estudio, dada la significancia de la heterosis especifica por ambiente para VITC, reveló que la heterosis de las cruzas o aptitud combinatoria específica (ACE) fue diferente a través de los ambientes, revelando con esto la importancia de los efectos no aditivos en la herencia de Vitamina C. En los efectos varietales para días a primer corte (DPC) hubo diferencia (P≤0.01) con el progenitor Z4 con signo negativo, indicando que este progenitor se puede explotar por medio de hibridaciones para generar genotipos precoces y signo positivo para el progenitor R1, indicando que este progenitor tiene genes deseables y puede ser explotado en un programa de mejoramiento para desarrollar genotipos de tomate precoces con alto peso promedio de fruto (mas de 105 gramos). En REND no hubo significancia para efectos varietales, donde los valores más altos, aunque no significativos, son los progenitores Q3 y R1, que obtuvieron los más altos rendimientos, con 53.95 y 58.63 t ha-1 respectivamente. Para la heterosis promedio, se observó significancia para VITC con valor positivo, y el estimado más alto pero no significativo fue para PPF, indicando que estas características conllevan heterosis que puede reflejarse en la realización de cruzamientos con los progenitores que presentaron valores altos de efecto varietal; así, Don Raúl puede emplearse para desarrollar materiales genéticos de alta eficiencia fotosintética, Z4 para PPF y BRIX y el progenitor Q3 para desarrollar genotipos con alto contenido de LICOP. Los valores de los estimados para la heterosis específica, mostró diferencia para x VITC en las cruzas Don RaúlxZ4, Don RaúlxR1, Z4xQ3 y Q3xR1, indicando con esto la posibilidad de explotar los efectos de dominancia y que estas cruzas se pueden emplear como híbridos para elevar la calidad del tomate."

The objectives raised in this study were: To determine genetic effects of four genotypes of tomato and their six direct crosses; and genotype-environment interaction (GEI) estimation of 25 genotypes by AMMI method, in Physiotecnical, Phenological, Yield and Quality variables. Twenty-five genotypes were evaluated in Rancho Nuevo (field), Providencia (greenhouse) and Buenavista (field) environments during the 2006 agricultural cycle. For the analysis of genotype-environment interaction 25 genotypes were used, while for determining the genetic effects were used 10 genotypes, using three experimental lines in F9 generation (Z4, Q3, R1) and a hybrid commercial (Don Raul) as parents and their xii six crosses possible according to a diallel design. The following variables were evaluated: Days to First Cut (DPC), Days to Last Cut (DUC), Days in Harvest (DC) and Number of Cuts (NC), Polar Diameter (DP) Equatorial Diameter (DE), Number of Fruits (NOFRT), Average Fruit Weight (PPF), Yield (REND), Colour (COLOR), Brix degrees (BRIX), Potential of Hydrogen Ions (pH), Vitamin C (VITC), Lycopene (LICOP), Temperature of the Leaf (THOJA), CO2 Assimilation (FOTO), Stomatal Conductance (CE), Stomatal Resistance (RE), Transpiration (TRANS), Physiological Water Use Efficiency (UEAF), Light Incident (DFFF), CO2 Concentration (CO2), Environment Temperature (TAIR) and Relative Humidity (HR). In all environments was assessed using a randomized complete block design with two replications for the yield and physiological traits. The experimental unit consisted of three intermediate plants with full competition. In variables of quality are used the same experimental design selecting three fruits randomly of each genotype in the fourth or fifth cut, the quality tests were conducted in laboratory. The information was analyzed as a randomized block combined on locations, in qualitative variables where detect IGA was carried out the analysis AMMI using the program proposed by Vargas and Crossa (2000) and genotypes were considered as a fixed effect and environments as a random effect. The general analysis of genetic effects used was the analysis II of Gardner and Eberhart (1966). The combined analysis of variance showed differences (P≤0.05) between environments for variables DPC, PPF and REND, the latter with at average 43.71 ton ha-1, Being higher than what was reported in 2007 that was 36.54 ton ha-1 (SIAP-SAGARPA, 2007) between genotypes observed significative differences for DPC and PPF, no significance detecting in GEI. For the quality variables were significative xiii differences between environments (P≤0.05) for BRIX, VITC and LICOP and differences (P≤0.01) between genotypes and the GEI. To make the analysis AMMI, with two components explained nearly 100 percent of the variation among the 25 genotypes . R1 line can be recommended by their negative interaction and hybrid Q3xR1 can be recommended for working in optimal environments and showed a positive interaction and that responds well in controled environments. The most stable to yield were those close to the origin (F3, D1, Z4xD1, Z4xR1, F3xCB, Z4xL1. The experimental hybrid S1xL1 respond better to the environment Providencia (PROV) and TRxF3 in the environment Buenavista (UAAAN). For VITC, UAAAN and Providencia (PROV) environments tend to group together in a way similar to the genotypes, where Q3 responds well in both environments and were more stable Z4xR1, P3xF3 and F3xD1. In the analysis of genetic effects, the parents behaved differently for PPF, heterosis varied at each crossing and environment, in varieties for environment and heterosis varietal for environment differences were observed (P≤ 0.05), corroborating this with the parents showed values differentials in the involved crosses. To yield (REND), there were differences (P≤ 0.05) for heterosis varietal by environment, indicating that the heterosis of the parents were not stable across environments. In the physiological parameters, significance was not found in any of the genetic effects. In BRIX parents behaved differently in each environment and heterosis was not stable across environments, in addition to the specific environment heterosis indicated that the heterosis of crosses or ACE was the same across different environments. There were differences (P ≤ 0.05) for total heterosis LICOP, suggesting that there is sufficient genetic potential between the parents surveyed, which can be exploited in a breeding program. xiv In this study given the significance of specific heterosis by environment, for VITC reveals that the heterosis of the crosses or specific combining ability (ACE) was different between environments, revealing the importance of this non-additive effects on the inheritance of Vitamin C. In the varietal effects for days to first cut (DPC) difference (P ≤ 0.01) with the parent Z4 with negative sign, indicating that the parent can be exploited through hybridizations to find genetic materials early and for the parent R1 with a positive sign indicates that this parent is desirable genes and which can be exploited in a breeding program to develop early tomato genotypes with high average weight of fruit (more than 105 grams). In yield, not found significance for varietal effects, where Q3 and R1 showed 53.95 and 58.63 ton ha-1 respectively. For the average heterosis was observed significance for VITC with positive value and estimated higher but was not significant for PPF, indicating that these characteristics imply that heterosis can be reflected in the performance of crosses with the parents who was maximal effect of varietal, well Don Raul can be used to develop genetic materials of high photosynthetic efficiency, Z4 for BRIX and PPF and the parent Q3 to develop genotypes with high content of LICOP. The values of those estimated for the specific heterosis, showed difference in VITC in the crosses Don RaulxZ4, Don RaulxR1, Z4xQ3 and Q3xR1, indicating that possibility of exploiting the effects of dominance and that these crosses can be used as hybrids to enhance the quality of tomato.
