The genus Plumeria locally known as 'Kalachuci' is a popular ornamental tree plant in the Apocynaceae family. Although considered a graveyard plant, the plumeria tree is one the common landscaping trees. Plumeria trees can be found on different campus sites of the University of the Philippines Los Baos. In this study, forty-seven plumeria trees were GPS-tagged. The GPS coordinates were used to map Plumeria trees using Goagle Earth. Morphological characterization for leaves, floral characters, and defoliation habits was done to document and assess the traits of each Plumeria species. This study was conducted to identify the set and combination of morphological traits unique to each species and variants. Also, to assess pollen fertility and germinability of pollens collected from different Plumeria trees. Fifteen morphological characters were assessed and analyzed using Principal Component Analysis. Cluster dendrogram revealed two major clusters compromising two species: Plumeria alba and Plumeria rubra. The Plumeria alba consists of 24 total individual trees and Plumeria rubra consists of 18 trees with multiple variants primarily due to differences in flower color. Variable factor map also indicates that among the morphological traits assessed; intensity and duration of flowering, leaf base shape, peduncle color, leaf glossiness, petal apex shape, floral diameter, and flower color have vital contributions in Principal Component l accounting for 54.45% of the total variance explained. In terms of pollen fertility and germinability, results indicated significant differences among the Plumeria trees regardless of species. Further research is required particularly to elucidate the cause of variation in pollen characteristics within the same species.
