Efeito do regime alimentar sobre o peso, condição corporal e incidência de cio em novilhas Nelore de 15 meses de idade.

RESUMO - Em torno de sete meses de idade, cento e vinte nove novilhas Nelore foram distribuídas em três grupos homogêneos, baseados no peso, idade e condição corporal, nos seguintes tratamentos, a saber: sal mineral (SM) - as novilhas receberam sal mineral à vontade no período das águas e sal protéico à base de 0,1% do peso vivo na seca; sal protéico (SP) - as novilhas receberam sal protéico a base de 0,1% do peso vivo durante todo o período experimental e ração (RA) - receberam 1% do peso vivo de ração à base de farelo de soja e milho durante todo o período experimental. Aos 15 meses de idade, foram submetidas a uma estação de monta de 63 dias, sendo utilizado um touro por tratamento. O peso médio e a condição corporal (CC), escala de 1 a 9, ao fim da estação de monta dos tratamentos foi de 282,67 ± 30,73 kg e CC de 5,24 ± 0,46, para o SM; 296,52 ± 27,44kg e CC de 5,47 ± 0,42 para o SP e 320,18 ± 31,16kg e CC 6,08 ± 0,54 para o RA (p< 0,05). A porcentagem de fêmeas ciclando ao fim da estação de monta foi maior para o tratamento RA (76,7%) (p<0,05) do que para os tratamentos SM (44,2%) e SP (39,5%), que não diferiram entre si. ABSTRACT - Around 7 months of age, 129 Nellore heifers were distributed into three homogeneous groups based on their weight, age and body condition score , which were assigned to the following treatments: MS - maintained in pasture receiving 0,1% of their body weigth (BW) of proteic salt in the dry season and mineral salt ad libitum in the rainy season; PS - received 0,1% of their BW of a proteic salt during the entire experimental period; and RA - received 1% of their BW of a soybean meal and corn based ration. Around 15 months of age, heifers were submitted to a breeding season of 63 days, with one bull per treatment. The average weight and body condition score (BCS) of the three groups of heifers at the end of the breeding season were 282,67 ± 30,73 kg and BCS de 5,24 ± 0,46, for SM; 296,52 ± 27,44kg and BCS de 5,47 ± 0,42 para o SP and 320,18 ± 31,16kg and BCS 6,08 ± 0,54 for RA (p< 0,05). The percentage of heifers with ciclyc activity at the end of the breeding season in the treatment RA (76,7%) was significantly larger (p < 0,05) than that for the other treatments, SM (44,2%) and SP (39,5%) that were not statistically different from each other (P>0,05).
