In the Republic of Moldova, in recent years, sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) has been recognized as a versatile nutraceutical crop with great economic potential, which has led to the expansion of plantations. Sea buckthorn fruits are rich in bioactive components, such as phenols, flavonoids, vitamins and carotenoids, which have a variety of benefits for human health, such as their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory effects. Flavonoids are a large group of phenolic compounds with beneficial biological functions for human health, are one of several important constituents of sea buckthorn fruits and are the most widespread class of phenols, including flavanols and their glycosides. Similarly, isorhamnetin-3-rutinoside, isorhamnetin-3-glucoside-7-rhamnoside and epigallocatechin present high content in sea buckthorn fruits. The purpose of this work was the quantitative analysis of flavonoid content by high-performance liquid chromatography in four varieties such as: Clara, Cora, Dora, Mara in a state of full ripening.
