Cultivation of corn for grain in crop rotation has more advantages than in monocropping. The effect of crop rotation, in average for 1994-2023, on unfertilized plots has consisted +1,61 t/ha or 46,3%, but on fertilized plots – (+0,35 t/ha or 6,8%). The effect of fertilization, in average for 1994-2023, has consisted in permanent cropping (+1,64 t/ha or 47,1%), but in crop rotation +0,38 t/ha or 7,5%. The increased effect of crop rotation on unfertilized plots and the increased effect of fertilization in permanent cropping are determined by the state of soil health and correspondingly the state of root health. By improving the health of the entire food chain in the soil it becomes possible to reduce expenses related to the application of mineral fertilizers, pesticides, moldboard plow etc. The share of soil fertility in yield formation in crop rotation consists 100% and in permanent cropping 68,0%.
