Efecto de las diferentes fuentes de fibra en dietas de crecimiento, sobre la integridad de la mucosa intestinal de pollos de carne criados en condiciones de altura

In recent years it has been observed that the inclusion of fiber can be beneficial for the development and gastrointestinal health of poultry. However, talking about fiber is very complex and depending on the nature of the fiber it can have very different effects. Therefore, in this research we sought to identify the most suitable source of fiber for the feeding of broilers raised in high altitude conditions, where the inclusion of 18% of different sources of fiber was evaluated. For this purpose, 32 Cobb 500 breed chickens were randomly distributed in 4 treatments (control, wheat bran, rice husk and palm kernel), with 8 replicates per treatment. The experimental diets were administered for 27 days, after which they were sacrificed by obtaining histological samples from the middle small intestine (jejunum) of each animal. The samples were processed and submitted to the hematoxylin and eosin staining technique, where the following variables were taken into account under a 4x objective microscope: villus length, crypt depth, ratio of villus length to crypt depth, epithelium height and muscle layer width. The diet made with wheat bran produced greater crypt depth and epithelium height (P ≤ 0.05). It was concluded that including a diet with wheat bran brings positive effects on the integrity of the intestinal mucosa in birds.

En los últimos años se ha observado que la inclusión de fibra puede ser beneficiosa para el desarrollo y salud gastrointestinal de las aves. Sin embargo, hablar de fibra es muy complejo y dependiendo de la naturaleza de esta puede tener efectos muy diversos. Por ello en esta investigación se buscó identificar la fuente de fibra más apta para la alimentación del pollo de carne criado en condiciones de altura, donde se evaluó la inclusión del 18% de diferentes fuentes de fibra. Para esto se hizo uso de 32 pollos de raza Cobb 500, los cuales fueron distribuidos sin sexar y aleatoriamente en 4 tratamientos (control, salvado de trigo, cascarilla de arroz y palmiste), con 8 repeticiones por tratamiento. Se les administro las dietas experimentales por 27 días, luego fueron sacrificados obteniendo muestras histológicas del intestino delgado medio (yeyuno), de cada animal. Las muestras fueron procesada y sometidas a la técnica de tinción de hematoxilina y eosina, donde luego en microscopio con objetivo de 4x se tomó en cuenta las variables: longitud de vellosidades, profundidad de criptas; relación de longitud de vellosidad y profundidad de cripta; altura del epitelio y ancho de la capa muscular. La dieta realizada con afrecho de trigo produjo mayor profundidad de cripta y altura del epitelio (P ≤ 0,05). Se concluyó que al incluir una dieta con salvado de trigo trae consigo efectos positivos en la integridad de la mucosa intestinal en las aves.
