Valoración nutritiva de botón de oro (Tithonia diversifolia) en condiciones edafoclimáticas de la estación experimental “El Padmi"

The objective of this study was to carry out the nutritional assessment of Botón de Oro (Tithonia diversifolia) under edaphoclimatic conditions at the "El Padmi" experimental station of the National University of Loja. Bromatological indicators were evaluated in leaves, stems, leaves + stems and flowers, during three cutting periods, 30, 60 and 120 days; the results were subjected to analysis of variance using a completely randomized design and Tukey's test (P≤0.05). The results show that the cutting age directly influences the content of protein, dry matter and fibrous components, with values of: DM 12.30 - 21.50%; BC 16.72 - 8.17%; PC 19.19 - 14.58%; NDF 52.27 - 61.74%; FDA 41.70 - 52.36%; LDA 16.79 - 15.82%. where the best cutting age with respect to protein is 30 days with an average of 19.19% (Leaves + Stems); in the case of dry matter it was greater than 120 days with 21.50%; It should be noted that the highest protein content occurred in the leaves with 32.65 %. It is concluded that Tithonia diversifolia constitutes a good alternative for cattle feeding in the province of Zamora Chinchipe, due to its high protein value and great adaptability to the edaphoclimatic conditions of the area. El objetivo del presente estudio fue realizar la valoración nutricional del Botón de oro (Tithonia diversifolia) en condiciones edafoclimáticas en la estación experimental “El Padmi” de la Universidad Nacional de Loja. Se evaluaron los indicadores bromatológicos en hojas, tallos, hojas + tallos y flores, durante tres periodos de corte, 30, 60 y 120 días; los resultados se sometieron a análisis de varianza mediante diseño completamente aleatorizado y prueba de Tukey (P≤0.05). Los resultados demuestran que la edad de corte influye directamente sobre el contenido de proteína, materia seca y componentes fibrosos, con valores de: MS 12,30 - 21,50%; CN 16,72 - 8,17%; PC 19,19 - 14,58%; FDN 52,27 - 61,74%; FDA 41,70 - 52,36%; LDA 16,79 - 15,82%. donde la mejor edad de corte con respecto a proteína es a los 30 días con una media de 19,19% (Hojas + Tallos); en el caso de materia seca fue mayor a los 120 días con el 21,50%; cabe destacar que el mayor contenido de proteína se presentó en las hojas con el 32,65 %. Se concluye que Tithonia diversifolia constituye una buena alternativa para la alimentación de bovinos en la provincia de Zamora Chinchipe, por su alto valor proteico y gran adaptabilidad a las condiciones edafoclimáticas de la zona.
