This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of different modified rapid generation advance techniques on the maturity and agro-morphological traits of pigmented rice. The experiment was laid out in a randomized complete block design with five treatments such as Treatment 1 which is direct seeding in seedling trays with 104 holes, covered with black cloth from 5:00 pm to 7:00 am starting 30 days after sowing. Treatment 2 also employed direct seeding in seedling trays with 104 holes, but without the black cloth cover.Treatment 3, Treatment 4 and Treatment 5 employed direct seeding of panicles in seedbeds with a distance of 5 cm, 7.5 cm and 10 cm, respectively. Based on the analysis of variance, there is a significant difference in agro-morphological traits evaluated such as in plant height, days to maturity, panicle length, number of filled spikelet per panicle, number of half-filled spikelets per panicle, number of unfilled spikelets per panicle, total number of spikelets per panicle, spikelet fertility, seed setting and weight of 1000 spikelets in grams. Among all the treatments evaluated, Treatment 3 exhibited to be the best treatment that will speed up the maturity of pigmented rice as it was recorded to have the earliest days to maturity with 115 days. However, it is comparable to Treatment 4 with 117 days and Treatment 5 with 118 days. In addition, Treatment 1 and Treatment 2 recorded with 120 days and 122 days, respectively. Furthermore, Treatment 3 significantly reduces labor requirements, expedites preparation time, optimizes land utilization and effectively minimizes breeding costs which will contribute to the stability of early generation rice lines, offering a promising path towards efficient rice breeding.
