Economic Profitability of Šumadinka Sour Cherry Production on a Family Farm

The subject of this work is the analysis of the characteristics and production results of the Šumadinka sour cherry, which is intended for fresh marketing. The main goal of the work is to determine the economic profitability of the production of this cherry variety on the family farm (FF) located in the Rasi na district. The description method, the calculation method and the interview method were used in the preparation of the paper. The research was conduct ed on the basis of data collected on the farm itself, and the database of the Statistical Office of the Republic of Serbia (RZS) and the Food and Agricul ture Organization (FAO), as well as relevant scientific and professional liter ature, was used. The analysis showed that the production of sour cherries, the Šumdinka variety, on a family farm can be economically profitable.
