PL: Analiza wpływu barier fizycznych na przepływ genów w populacjach drapieżników | EN: Analysis of the effect of physical barriers on gene flow in predator populations

abstractPL: Szybki proces urbanizacji skutkuje powstawaniem coraz większej liczby barier fizycznych. Podejrzewa się, że mogą one wpływać negatywnie na przepływ genów w populacjach drapieżników takich jak lis rudy (Vulpes vulpes). Aby zweryfikować tę tezę, przeprowadzono analizę danych przestrzennych dotyczących aktywności lisów w okolicach Berlina. Zidentyfikowano cztery bariery antropogeniczne, w tym trasy kolejowe oraz drogi przebiegające przez centrum Berlina. Posłużono się dwiema metodami grupowania: klastrowanie spektralne, DBSCAN. Wyniki wykazały znaczący wpływ barier fizycznych na przepływ genów w populacjach, jednocześnie podkreślając wagę problemu przed jakim stoją badacze oraz osoby zaangażowane w ochronę różnorodności genetycznej.

abstractEN: The rapid process of urbanization is resulting in an increasing number of physical barriers. It is suspected that these may negatively affect gene flow in populations of predators such as the red fox (Vulpes vulpes). To test this thesis, a principal component analysis and two clustering methods were conducted. Four anthropogenic barriers were identified, including rail routes and roads running through the center of Berlin. The results showed the significant impact of physical barriers on gene flow in populations, while underscoring the importance of the problem facing researchers and those involved in protecting genetic diversity.
