Application of the Eu Artificial Intelligence Act Adopted in August 2024 to Software Products: Legal Implications and Update Obligations

This paper analyzes the legal obligations related to the updating of software products based on artificial intelligence (AI) within the context of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, adopted in August 2024. Special attention is given to the compatibility of these obligations with the new EU legal frameworks, including Directive (EU) 2019/770 on contracts for the supply of digital content and digital services. The paper explores the role of the update obligation in maintaining the functionality and security of software solutions, as well as the challenges in applying the new regulations to the rapidly evolving AI technologies. The analysis highlights the need for further refinement of the legal framework to ensure responsible innovation and user protection within the EU.
