Serum enzyme (GOT, LDH, ALP) activities in relation to stage of gestation in Korean native cattle.
1982
Jo C.H.
Serum glumatic oxaloacetic transminase (GOT), lactic dehydregenase (LHD), and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activities were determined in 5 Korean native cattle to obtain the base line of blood enzyme activities in relation to the gestation stage. Serum GOT activities showed an increasing tendency with the course of gestation period. Serum LDH levels were withing normal range through all the stages of pregnancy, and the slight increase in serum ALP activities was acknowledged at the 2nd and 3rd stage of gestation.

1982
Kim M.C.
This experiment was performed to determine the effect of Xylazine and Ketamine hydrochloride for sedation in deers. Xylazine and ketamine hydrochloride were given intramusculary to 32 deers (sika deer 7, red deer 11, elk 6, pere david deer 3, and reindeer 5). Ketamine hydrochloride was injected 30 minutes after administration of xylazine. The recovery from sedation of combined anesthesia was remarkably fast compared with xylazine alone.

1982
Bak U.B. | Cheong C.K. | Lim C.H.
A massive mycetoma was observed in the abdominal cavity of a 3-year-old spayed female Labrador Retriever dog which originated from France. The mycetoma lesion involved adhesion with one-half of the spleen, several portions of the small and large intestine, and the diaphragm. Histologically the distict hypertrophy of the intestinal muscle layer and wide spread deposition of the hemosiderin through the affected abdominal organs and thrombosis of aplenic arterioles with athematous change were recognized as persistant. There were also debilitating changes in the affected organs. From the histological appearance of the fungal colonies it was presumed that the causative fungus was Allescheria boydii.

Rhee Y.O. | Choi D.Y. | Han H.R.
The disease syndrome characterized by acute vomiting and diarrhea with high mortality was prevalent in Korea [R.]. The agent present in the faces of dogs associated with this syndrome had the characteristic feature agglutinating red blood cells that was specifically inhibited by anti-CPV (canine parvovirus) reference dog serum. This also showed the serological identity with the reference CPV antigen in immuno-diffusion. Electron micrograph of the material revealed parvovirus particles with the size of 20nm and icosahedral structure. These results clearly indicated that CPV was the primary cause of canine epidemic prevailing in 1981 in Korea [R.].

1982
Lee C.S.
This is a study on the light microscopical and electron microscopical findings of the morphological changes of the liver of Korean native gout injected with toxin (culture filtrate) of Clostridum perfingens which was isolated from Korean native cattle. Decreased number of glycogen granules, swelling and destruction of mitochondria, proliferation of smooth-surfaced endoplasmic reticulum, dispersal of thready agranular membranous structure and appearance of secondary lysosome were recognized in the hepatic cell cytoplasm.
