This article reports the results of a trial on the effects of gibberellic acid on germination of seeds of Ziziphus vulgaris with endocarp, without endocarp and with chemically scarified endocarp. Gibberellic acid increases the germination percentage of seeds without endocarp, but has no effect on seeds with endocarp. The most effective concentration was 400 p.p.m. The presence of endocarp apparently hinders the germination of seeds and reduces their germination energy. Gibberellic acid increases the germination energy only in scarified seeds.

Sono state effettuate prove sull'effetto dell'acido gibberellico nella germinazione dei semi di Ziziphus vulgaris, con endocarpo, senza endocarpo e con endocarpo scarificato chimicamente. L'acido gibberellico aumenta la percentuale di germinazione dei semi senza endocarpo e con endocarpo scarificato, mentre non ha effetto sui semi con endocarpo. La concentrazione piu efficace e risultata 400 ppm. La presenza dell'endocarpo ostacola la germinazione dei semi e diminuisce l'energia perminativa. L'acido gibberellico aumenta l'energia germinativa solo nei semi scarificati.
