Evaluation of the influence of different levels of potassium and light on the content of vitamin C in the lettuce plant (Lactuca sativa)

We study the contain in vitamin C (V.C.) in the lettuce plant submitted to different levels of potassium 3,5-5,0-5,5 and 8,0 me K/l sol. and light received using controlled cultivation with intermittently circulating nutrient solution. The experiment is realized in a glass-house with four repetitions. Two crops are carried out twice one within six weeks of treatment and another one after 8 weeks of treatment. For plants tied up (A) the contain in V.C. increases with treatment duration having opposite responses in plants untied (S). For six weeks of test duration the highest levels of potassium of the nutritive medium produce the greatest contains in V.C. in the lettuce
