Varietal performance of transplanted HYV [high-yielding variety] aus paddy in barind soil [Bangladesh]

A varietal trial was conducted in barind soil having clay-loam texture with pH 6.0 at Admdighi P.S. in Bogra District, Bangladesh under irrigated condition during kharif-1, 1981 to observe the performance of different varieties namely, BR-3, BR-6, BR-7, BR-8, BR-9 and Purbachi. The variety BR-7 gave the highest yield at 3.547 t/ha which was 98% higher than the lowest yield (1.79 t/ha) produced by BR-6 which also was inferior to all the varieties.
