[Sign of specialization in a "Powdery mildew" of London plane (Platanus hybrida Brot.)]

Artificial inoculations with a population of conidia of Microsphaera platani Howe from a single tree of Platanus hybrida Brot. were made on detached leaves from some trees of London Plane (P. hybrida Brot.), Oriental Plane (P. orientalis L.) and American Plane-Tree (P. occidentalis L.) and from other different species of plants. This population was able to infect only the leaves of that one tree from which I took the inoculum; such thing makes me believe that there is a clonal specialization, till now never noticed in this fungal species.
