Effect of sowing dates and levels of fertilizer on the growth and yield of wheat (Saberbeg) under rainfed conditions in North of Iraq. A study was made during 1982-1984 of the growth and yield of wheat (Saberbeg) when grown under four levels of fertilizers and three dates of sowing. Two experiments were carried out in the research station of field crop in Hammam Al-Alil and Sinjar district under rainfed conditions. Some effects of treatment, leaf area index, number of tillers in meter length and dry weight of plant reduced significantly with late sowing. Fertilizer increased significantly leaf area index, leaf extension rate, number of tiller in meter length and dry weight of plant.
