This study was to investigate the distribution of Trichoderma species in forest soils of Mt. Geryongsan [Korea R.]. The total population of Trichoderma spp. increased until summer and then declined until winter. The yearly mean frequency of Trichoderma spp. exceeded 1.4% of total fungal propagules in 2 sites. Decrease of absolute and relative propagule numbers of Trichoderma with increasing soil depth were found and variation in Trichoderma propagules caused by differences in soil depth (0-50cm) was greater than that caused by differences in sampling time
