Effect of N fertilization and cutting management on the carbohydrate reserves, regrowth and dry matter yield of sorghum-sudangrass hybrid (Sorghum bicolor L. Moech) for forage production

The effects of the different N rate and cutting height on the forage quality and dry matter yield of sorghum-sudangrass hybrid (Sorghum bicolor (L.) Moench) was studied. A nonsignificant relationship was revealed between N content in plant and either level of N fertilizer or stubble height except during the 2nd harvest. The NDF, ADF, cellulose, hemicellulose and stubble lignin contents of forage were not affected by N fertilization and stubble height. No significant difference between dry matter yield and cutting height was found
