A small sample of the Nigeria genetic material was planted is different environments is Malaysia to study genotype environment isteraction (GE) is oil palm. The results showed that at least for some of the characters, GE accounts for a significant proportion of the genetic variations and that a large portion of this variation is due to a lisear relationship between genotype and environment. The application of GE on conservation of oil-palm genetic resources is discussed
