Studies on the S/P compound silk and its fabric

This is a study on the development of the compound silk by reeling of raw silk along with polyester fiber, and for the improvement of the pure silk fabric in the physical characteristics. By the use of the modified mixture of adhesive chemicals finishing with soaking treatment, the cohesion of stretched polyester compound silk was improved to 99.8%. The breaking strength of compound silk was increased to 3.92g/denier by the textile oil treatment. The compound silk fabric increased 17% of fabric crease recovery as compared with that of the pure silk. The hand-touch of compound silk fabric was improved by the low temperature degumming with textile softener as compared with the conventional degumming, but it was less favorable than that of pure silk fabric due to different shrinkage between silk filament and polyester filament
