The effect of herbicides (H) on maize plants considered to be extremely resistant to their impact, especially to Triazin H was investigated. The domestic early hybrid ZPTC-196 was used. Treatment with H was performed 4 days after sowing. The experiment had the following variants:1)control(C1), 2)control(C2), 3)Radazin(1.5 kg/ha) +Laslo(2 dm3/ha), 4)Radazin(3.0 kg/ha)+Laso(4 dm3/ha), 5)Atropin (1.5 kg/ha)+ Laso(2 dm3/ha), 6)Atropin(3.0 kg/ha)+Laso(4 dm3/ha), 7)Amezin(1.5 kg/ha)+Laso(2 dm3/ha), 8)Amezin(3.0 kg/ha)+Laso(4dm3/ha). Inter-row weed control treatment was not performed in C1, but it was performed in C2. The applied preparations contained the following quantities of aqtive substance:Radazin - 50% atrazin; Atropin- 34% atrazin and 16% prometrin; Amezin - 31% atrazin and 16% ametrin; Laso -48% alahlor. On the basis of the obtained results the following conclusions were drawn: 1)By eliminating competitive relationships of weeds and by improvement of ecological conditions, conditions for more intensive maize plant development are enabled, manifesting in the increase of the absolute grain mass and yield. H combinations applied in larger quantities per unit of area had a stronger effect on the increase of yield. Smaller H quantities had a weaker effect on the increase of the absolute grain mass. 2)In the variants with H, the total nitrogen, raw proteins and amino acids(AA)content in the grain is increased. The increase was 3-11%, depending on H combination and on the applied quantity per unit of area. Since it was found that the content of these components was almost at the level of the normally treated control, this indicates that it is mainly a consequence of indirect H impact. No changes in the AA composition were found, but the increase of the total AA content were found under the influence of herbicides.
