Regarding the recent description in our country of the sickness known as "abscess disease" in young sheep and due to the likeness between this process and the ovine caseous limphadenitis, it is necessary to establish a differentiation. On the basis of the authors experience, the difference between both diseases is discussed from the clinical viewpoint, presence and type of lesions, epidemiological characters and etiology, recommending a simple microbiological methodology for the etiological diagnosis of both
