1985
Ahmed, N.M.
This study was undertaken at the nursery of Forestry Dept., Coll. of Agriculture and Forestry, Hammam, Al-Alil, during the period from the end of March 1983 till the end of February 1984 to investigate the effects of different planting depths, 30cm (D1) and 40 cm (D2) heights of the cutting above soil surface zercom (H1) 2.5 cm (H2) and 5 cm (H3) and the spacing between the cuttings 10 cm (S1) 20 cm (S2) 30 cm (S3) on seedling growth of Tamarix articulata Vahl. in the nursery. Some results of this study are that the planting depths had significant effect on the seedling heights in July, August, and the best of which was obtained from (D1) 30 cm. The cutting height above soil surface had significant effect on the following characteristics: survival percentage, number of coppice, diameter of seedling at root collar. Also the spacing between the cutting had significant effect on the diameter of seedling at root collar
