The value of anthelmintic treatment on the DTRI [Philippines] dairy calves under indoor management system

Results showed that the total weight gains of the anthelmintic-treated calves were significantly higher than the non-medicated control. Calves treated with oxfendazole or tetramisole recorded lower morbidity and mortality rates and improved general health condition compared to the on-medicated control. However, there were no significant differences in the total weight gains between the subgroups nor between Holstein-Friesian blood composition percentage. The values on RBC content, WBC count, hemoglobin content and hematocrit were observed to return to normal levels, 6 months after two anthelmintic dosings
