The cotton aphids, Aphis gossypii Glover, dominated the catches (42.7%). It is cosmopolitan and a polyphagous species that infest many crops, ornamental plants, weeds and trees. Other species caught in considerable numbers named in the order of their abundance were: the cowpea aphids, Aphis craccivora Koch (11.2%); the green peach aphid, Myzus persicae (Sulzer); the spirea aphid, Aphis citricola van der Goot, the turnip aphid, Lipaphis eryiimi (Kaltenkoch); and the everlasting curl aphid, Brachycaudus helichrips (Kaltenkoch). Several vector species were caught in low numbers although they were present in large populations on several crops during the trapping period
