The investigation which lasted 114 days was carried out at the territory of SAP Voivodina (SFR Yugoslavia), 150 km from Belgrade, in the area not included in hail suppression projects. The results are as follows: during this period, in days of intensive convection, Richardson's number was up to 1 from the ground up to 1000 m. Long term studies of convective clouds showed that the environment in which a cloud developes is a very important factor - instability of environment, air humidity in the surface layer, wind circulation and dynamical effects are of great importance for the type of the developing cloud. For 114 cases of intensive convection, speeds may be divided into three intervals: speeds from 3 to 5 m/s in the layer from the ground up to the height of 1500 m; from 5 to 10 m/s at 1500-5000 m; from 10 to 15 m/s at 5000-6500 m. Maximum speeds from the ground to 100 mb in the period from April to May are in the interval from 25 to 30 m/s, in June from 30 to 35 m/s, in August above 35 m/s and finally in September from 20 to 25 m/s.
