The influence of the forest lane on the increment in neighbouring trees [Quercus spp.]

It was investigated the increment of trees in the oak biocenosis which are situated near the forest lane on the 4 different localities. The investigations were done in the oak and elm lowland forests where even at small localities the soil, the tree position and structure of matter were changing very quickly. Great effort were put into finding objects of the same conditions for investigation. At experimental plates the oak biocenoses of the age of 40-60 years and the arboreal mass 270-350m /ha were covered 75-80% by oaks. At all localities was noticed the decreasing of arboreal stock on plates which were far from forest lanes, except on 1 location (Topolovac 76e). By detailed analyses of that locality it was found out that in 2nd repetition were 3 variations of 2 strong oak trees volume about 1,5m each of them. The results of investigation proved that arboreal stock was increased near forest lane (distance 0-10m). The arboreal stock on the 2nd plate was smaller for 21% from the 1st plate arboreal stock, and aproximately equal to the 3rd plate. In younger biocenosis near forest lane the increment of trees was more evident and lasted as long as the top of the trees from the next forest lane did not fold up.
