Studies on the in vivo release rate of methyltestosterone from silastic implant in silver carp

The in vivo release rate of methyltestosterone (MT) from 5 mg silastic implants ranged from 5.36 to 9.66 ug/day with an average diffusion rate of 7.74 ug/day over a period of 95-324 days. The release rate of MT decreased with the increase in treatment duration. A considerable variation in the release rate of MT from the implants was observed between treatment groups.
