Agronomic performance evaluation of rice mutants under upland culture [in Bangladesh]

An experiment was conducted in the Aus season of 1985 at Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture, experimental farm under upland condition adopting a RCB design having 3 replications. Moisture content of the field was determined using gauge type tensiometer. Five varieties/mutants viz, IRATOM-24, IRATOM-38, Mut 1-2, Mut 1-1 and Dular hybrid were tested for different agronomic characters. Highest number of tillers per hill was obtained from Dular hybrid followed by IRATOM-38 and Mut 1-2. Lowest number of tillers was obtained in IRATOM-24 preceded by Mut 1-1 under upland culture.
