In two experiments, one with primiparous and the other with multiparous Chios ewes, the effects of intensity of suckling (twins, singles, no suckling) on milk production, and on the growth rate of the lambs were studied. Single suckling lambs grew faster than twin-suckling or artificially reared lambs. Single suckling is recommended for Chios ewes, particularly yearlings
