Effect of Mixtalol and Agromix in relation to varying levels of nitrogen on growth and yield of paddy
1985
Gill, H.S. | Singh, H. (Punjab Agricultural Univ., Ludhiana (India). Dept. of Agronomy)
Field investigations were conducted during 1982 and 1983, on the foliar application of Mixtalol (1 ppm and 2 ppm) and Agromix (1 ppm) at 30 and 58 days after transplanting of paddy (var. PR 106) grown under varying levels of N (0, 60, and 120 kg/ha). At these concentrations, foliar spray of mixtalol and agromix did not show any marked effect on the growth and yield of paddy. Nitrogen application favourably influenced the number of effective tillers, panicle length and number of grains per panicle and significantly increased the grain yield up to 120 kg N/ha in 1982 and up to 90 kg N/ha in 1983. Straw yield, plant height, chlorophyll concentration of fresh leaves and interception of photosynthetically active radiation increased markedly with each increase in dose of N in both the years
