The performance of varieties is the result of the extent of expression of genotype getting adopted in particular environmental conditions for the purpose of optimum growth and development. In the present studies the same principle holds true in the performance of varieties and HD-2251 reacted more favourably in grain yield (q/ha) as well as grain yield (kg/day/ha). It may be due to its more tillering capacity and more number of grains/panicle
