Effects of NAA and planofix on flowering, flower and fruit drop and fruit set in chilli

Studies carried out to standardize the optimum concentration and time of application of NAA to induce more flowering and reduce flower and fruit drop of chilli cv. Jwala reveal that the concentration up to 20 ppm and spraying on 20th day after transplanting were the best. It resulted in early flowering by a week, more flower production (up to 22.9%); and conspicuous increase in fruit set and reduction in flower and fruit drop. NAA as pure chemical was superior to its commercial formulation planofix, though many times significant differences were not evident
