Rombach, M.C. | Aguda, R.M. | Roberts, D.W.
The dry mycelium and a suspension of the conidia of the entomogenous fungus Metarrhizium anisopliae were evaluated for the suppression of populations of the brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens, on rice. The mycelium was applied at rates equivalent to 700, 3500 and 7000 g/ha; the conidia rate was equivalent to 2.5 x 10 to the twelve power conidia/ha. Significant control of populations was achieved 2 weeks after treatment up to harvest. Differences between treatments were present but not consistent. Dry mycelium preparations of M. anisopliae should be further evaluated for the control of the brown planthopper
