Based on the pooled data Arbor Acre 21 birds exhibited the highest total gain in weight while the Starbro birds were the poorest. The 15% level of pongapong significantly gave the highest weight gain in broilers. This could be attributed to the palatability of the ration and the ability of the birds to utilize the nutrients available in the feed. The different root crops, cassava, sweet potato, pongapong and tannin, at 15% level varied on their metabolizable energy and protein content. The higher the metabolizable energy, the lower the feed consumption of these birds to satisfy their energy requirements
