The yield of mushroom as influenced by the application of varying levels of urea fertilizer [Philippines]
1985
Onos, L.O.
Four levels of urea fertilizer (0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 tablespoonfuls per gallon of water) and a control treatment were used in the study as treatments in a Complete Randomized Design with three replications. The data gathered included total number of flushes, average number of buttons per flush, total number of buttons harvested, and average and total weight of mushroom buttons harvested in 30 days. All data were analyzed by the Analysis of Variance using F-test and DMRT interpreted at 5 percent and 1 percent levels of significance. The results of the study revealed that the total number of flushes, average number of mushroom buttons, and total number of buttons were not significantly affected by the application of varying rates of urea fertilizer. However, all fertilizer applied beds obtained a higher average weight of mushroom buttons than the unfertilized beds while the rates of 3 to 4 tablespoonfuls of urea fertilizer recorded the heaviest weight of mushroom buttons at 5 percent level of significance
