The cups of milking machines used in the barns with the deflector shields were fitted up alternately according to the scheme: fore left, rear right and fore right, rear left. It was proved that the application of deflector shields and the disinfection of teats led to statistically highly significant differences in the number of somatic cells in milk than in control group
