Comments on colour reaction of anthrone with glycerol and aliphatic compounds

It was demonstrated that anthrone gave colour reaction with glycerol and compounds containing glycerol in the presence of sulphuric acid. Therefore glycerol and compounds containing glycerol should be considered for substances influencing the results of quantitative analysis of hexoses by anthrone method
