Influence of sowing density and spacing between rows on the yields of two spring wheat varieties
1984
Fatyga, J. (Akademia Rolnicza, Wroclaw (Poland). Inst. Uprawy Roli i Roslin)
On post-podzol soils of a good wheatland complex on the place after sugar beets there were applied three sowing densities: 4.0, 5.5 and 7.0 millions of seeds per hectare at the spacing between rows of 12.5 and 15.0 cm. The sowing density increase from 4.0 up to 5.5 millions of seeds per hectare led to a significant increase of the yield and the protein content in grains. But the sowing density increase up to 7.0 millions of seeds per hectare resulted in a decrease of the weight of grains from an ear. The Kaspar variety gave higher yields as compared with the Kolibri variety
