Transpiration rate of Mimosa pigra L. shoots in different seasons
1984
Orapin Niyomyati
Transpiration rate of Mimosa pigra L. shoots slowly decreased from May in rainy season until the minimum rate was reached in December (winter) and then gradually increased to the maximum rate in April (summer). Changes in transpiration rate of shoots and leaves were similar because the transpiration by leaves were 95-98 percent of the total transpiration. The percentage of transpiration by leaves were higher in rainy season than winter and summer. Transpiration rate of stem was also minimum in October and maximum in April as of the leaves, but the increase in transpiration rate by stem was higher than by leaves. The economic loss by calculation due to the transpiration rate of Mimosa pigra L. in agricultural land was 672.12 bahts/rai/year and in water power electricity production was 365.18 bahts/rai/year
