Post harvest losses in Grenada
1981
James, F. (Ministry of Agriculture, St. Andrews (Grenada). Agronomy Division)
The problems associated with post harvest losses of agricultural products have received only limited attention and no reliable loss data is available. A detailed presentation of agricultural crop production in Grenada is given. A large proportion of the foreign exchange earned by the agricultural sector is used to meet the food importation bill. The Government has embarked on programmes aimed at greater self-sufficiency in food production, agro-industrialisation, diversification of agricultural production for export and the establishment of an effective Marketing Import Board. Details of progress in these areas are presented with particular attention drawn to post harvest activities
