Path-coefficient analysis in chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.)

A study of 30 diverse strains of chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) showed that seeds per pod had the highest direct effect on grain yield. Most of the characters had indirect effects through pods per plant. Selection should be performed for number of seeds per pod and pods per plant for higher yield in chickpea
