From May to September 1985 a bacteriological investigation was carried out in the pollution of bi-valve molluscs belonging to Donax genus (mussels). Low levels of pollution were shown on some pollution-indicator microrganisms (E.coli). A large number pathogenic staphylococci was isolated especially from the samples taken in August and September V. parahaemolyticus and V. alginolyticus were also isolated
