1987
Rabbani, M.G. | Siddique, M.A.
The experiment was conducted to investigate the effects of different sizes of cut seed piece and number of eyes in a cut seed piece on the yield of two potato varieties. It appeared that size of cut seed piece had pronounced effect on the yield contributing characters and yield of potato, while the number of eyes in a cut seed piece exerted little or no effect on most of the yield contributing characters and yield of potato. In cv. Ukama, the highest yield (19.7 t/ha) was obtained from the largest cut seed piece (35g) having 2 eyes; and in cv. Cardinal the highest yield (24.5 t/ha) was obtained from the largest cut seed piece having 3 eyes.
