The need for a code on the marketing of breast milk substitutes for Ghana

The viewpoint of the Ministry of Health (Ghana) on the issue of a code for marketing breastmilk substitutes is expressed. Attention is focussed on the advantages of breastmilk feeding and its effect on the newborn and the need to regulate advertising of the substitutes. Such a code ensures that adequate information of the risks of breastmilk substitutes is available to families
