Response of soybean to date of sowing and levels of phosphate fertilization

An experiment was conducted during 1985 and 1986 at Kuthulia farm, College of Agriculture, Rewa (M.P.) to study the effect of date of sowing and levels of P2O5 on soybean variety JS-72-44 (Gaurav). The results revealed that there were no significant differences in grain yield of soybean due to delay in sowing up to four weeks after the onset of monsoon, but yield significantly reduced when sown after 6 weeks from the onset of monsoon. There was significant increase in yield due to 40 kg P2O5/ha over 20 kg P2O5 in the first year while in the second year there was no significant response of P2O5 on yield as well as any of the yield contributing characters
